Technology

Technology amplifies. It amplifies human creativity—the ability to share art, connect across distances, access knowledge instantaneously. It also amplifies human vanity—the tendency to perform rather than be, to curate rather than live, to seek validation rather than create meaningfully.

The question is not whether to use technology. The question is whether technology serves your authentic self or replaces it with a performed version designed for approval.

Social media is the clearest example. You can share genuinely—moments that matter to you, thoughts you actually believe, work you are proud of. Or you can perform—calculating what will attract engagement, staging moments for appearance rather than experience, shaping your life around its shareability rather than its meaning.

"When you share online, what are you actually hoping for — connection, validation, or something else? When did you last share something with no expectation of a response?"
