Lesson · Word 10
Reflect
Action without reflection is motion without progress. You can work tirelessly, pursue goals relentlessly, stay busy constantly—and still not grow. Because growth requires not just doing but understanding what you did, why it worked or failed, and what to change.
Reflection is the pause between action and next action. It is the deliberate examination of experience to extract insight. Without reflection, experience is just events. With reflection, experience becomes wisdom.
Most people skip this step. They rush from task to task, action to action, never pausing to integrate what they have learned. This creates the illusion of productivity while ensuring minimal growth.
"When you look back over the past month, what experience have you rushed past without fully understanding what it was trying to teach you?"
