Purpose

"If a man knows not to which port he sails, no wind is favourable." — Seneca

How would you approach your internal flame when you are unsure of its purpose? Will it act as a source of power for you, and as a beacon for others—or is it just a bunch of logs scattered on top of one another?

You do yourself an injustice if you aimlessly throw materials onto a pile and ignite it. Yes, it might catch fire and burn, but that is the easy part. To create the internal fire you desire, you need to cultivate it from the beginning with direction. If your aim is an internal fire that consistently fuels you throughout life, you need to do everything with intent, direction, and reason. Every action needs a purpose.

"If purpose is not something you find but something you create, what does that change about how you approach your life?"
