Power
The definition seems straightforward: the ability or capacity to do something or act in a particular way. But power is far more abstract than this suggests. Perseverance is power. Discipline is power. Consistency is power. Having control over your emotions, the way you carry yourself, the way you inspire others, the way you refuse to yield your ideals when it would be easier to compromise—these all require power.
And yet, despite its omnipresence, power becomes frustratingly elusive when we need it most. When darkness visits—through loss, failure, or exhaustion—that internal drive seems to vanish entirely. The euphoria of accomplishment fades quickly, but melancholy lingers. Climbing out of a dark place feels impossible because we've lost touch with our power, that fundamental will to act.
Here is the truth: dark times will come. You will lose loved ones. You will fail. You will make mistakes. This is simply the way life unfolds. But regardless of how often darkness visits, you remain in control of one critical thing:your mind. Life is a sequence of decisions, and you are the captain at the helm. You choose the course.
"Where in your life do you act as though you have no power, and what would change if you questioned that assumption?"
