Perspective
Perspective is the lens through which you view the world. It is not what happens to you, but how you interpret what happens. Two people can experience the same event and emerge with completely different stories—not because the event was different, but because their perspective was different.
When you are stuck in a problem, zooming out can reveal solutions. When you are overwhelmed by details, stepping back can show patterns. When you are consumed by your own narrative, considering other viewpoints can bring clarity. Perspective is the ability to shift your vantage point, to see the situation from different angles, to recognize that your interpretation is not the only interpretation.
Life will present you with circumstances beyond your control—unexpected losses, sudden changes, unfair treatment. You cannot always control what happens, but you can always control your perspective on what happens. This is not about toxic positivity or pretending everything is fine. It is about recognizing that you have agency in how you respond.
"What problem would shift if you zoomed out far enough, and what keeps you from doing so?"
