Focus

In a world of infinite distractions, focus is the scarcest resource. Everyone wants your attention—advertisers, social media platforms, news outlets, other people. Your attention is the currency of the modern age, and you give it away for free.

But focus is more than just attention. Attention is where you point your awareness. Focus is sustained attention directed toward a specific purpose. You can pay attention to many things, but you can only focus on one thing at a time.

The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your focus. Where you direct your attention consistently becomes your reality. If you focus on problems, you find more problems. If you focus on solutions, you find more solutions. If you focus on gratitude, you find more to be grateful for.

"What keeps pulling your attention away from what you say matters most, and why do you allow it?"
